Sears is the second largest department store chain in Mexico. In 2021 it reached a figure of million of own credit cards, thereby maintaining its position as one of the largest non-bank players in the country. During 2021 the stores that had been limited in the percentage of customers that could be allowed entry due to the COVID-19 pandemic began to relax their rules and to recover their customers.

The focus on profitability in the physical stores was maintained and in online commerce the number of items offered through the www.sears.com.mx was increased.

With the availability of online shopping and the collection of the purchased items in the stores through the “Click and Collect” modality, the categories with the highest performance were linen, computers, and furniture. An increase in the sale of perfumes, footwear and sports clothing was also observed.

Improvements in the Marketplace continue, with support initiatives towards our providers and the stocking of more products, added to in-store collection to reduce packaging and delivery costs. This channel experienced a significant growth during the year. Looking forward we see further reductions in costs by promoting collection in the stores and other developments in the websites and Apps.

Investment in the expansion of new Sears and Boutique stores was halted, and at the end of the year there were 97 units with a total of 856,402 square meters of commercial area.
